Stirred Cell HPC-197

Slide1 v1.5The HPC-197 Stirred Cell from AMS Technologies is a portable laboratory-scale high-pressure test unit that can complete a wide variety of membrane separations such as reverse osmosis (RO), microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF) and nanofiltration (NF) in an cost-efficienteasy and fast way.

A volume of 150ml can be processed to quickly analyse representative samples for membrane separation process testing. The accommodated 53 mm diameter flat sheet membrane disc facilitates first indications of operating results and membrane performance characteristics for different membranes. Due to its smart design, the top part of the cell can easily be removed to fill the vessel (height: 19.8cm, diameter 4.8cm) with the solution, while the removable bottom of the HPC-197 guarantees easy membrane change-out.

For testing, AMS includes three flat sheets of its own highly stable state-of-the-art NF membrane product selection (A-3012, B-4022 and S-3012).

AMS HPC-197 Stirred Cell unique features at a glance
Compact self-contained unit Incorporating membrane test cell, pressure relief valve and discharge pipe, the integral assembly is ready for operation on any laboratory bench or fume cupboard environment. Connect the Stirred Cell to the user-supplied magnetic stirrer (can be enclosed by AMS if required) and the external inert gas source, and you can start analysing your streams.

Inert gas pressure source for pressure operations up to 69 bar

The HPC-197 is designed for safe operation up to 69 bar (1000 psig) at ambient temperatures. Standard sources of inert gas allow variable, safe, and consistent supply of pressure to perform separations.

Chemical-resistant stirred cell components for aqueous and non-aqueous solutions

Its 316 stainless steel construction and chemical-resistant components make the HPC-197 Stirred Cell an ideal choice for filtering aggressive aqueous and non-aqueous solutions and streams.

Magnetic stirring mechanism to stimulate cross-flow regimes

The teflon-coated magnetic stir bar provides agitation to reduce concentration polarization or cake formation typical of "dead-end" or normal filtration.

Accepts all membrane flat sheet discs

Besides AMS' extensive line of innovative acid-stable, alkaline-stable and solvent-stable nanofiltration and ultrafiltration membranes, all sorts of flat sheet membranes can be used with the HPC-197.
